10 Scriptures to Declare Over Your Life

10 Scriptures to declare

This summer I planted seeds in my backyard and of the seeds that I planted, I noticed that the chances of the seed sprouting up was increased when I had planted more seeds. The more seeds I put in the soil, the more likely I was to see fruit.

Words are like a seeds that we plant in the soil. What we say are the seeds that get strewn in our lives and whatever we have spread the most, has a greater likelihood of sprouting up.

Recently, as I was scolding my children (yikes), I heard myself say words that would not produce the fruit I wanted to harvest in their lives. The Lord convicted me and I had to reassess my actions and my words. You see, I’m typically pretty good at declaring scriptures in my prayers and in my day to day life, but God was showing me that I needed to apply that same principle in the way that I speak to others (the words I say about and to those around me). Do I sow the Word of God over my children, even when I am unhappy with their actions? Do I declare the Word of God when the situation seems overwhelming? Do my words add faith, fear or hopelessness? Sadly that day, my answer was nothing positive.

Our words have great power and I am starting to see that as I change my words  to God’s words, a shift is bound to happen in and around me.  With His utter words, God formed the earth and everything in it. So words do have the power to build up or pull down. Isaiah 55:10-11 tells us that God’s word cannot go void; it has to accomplish what it was sent to do. As we declare scriptures over ourselves, our families and our affairs, something has to change. When we declare scripture instead of our own words, we remind the Lord of His promises to us. We remind Him of all the things He has already spoken over us and we realign ourselves with those promises.

Here are 10 scripture based declarations that we can be begin to profess over our lives. If you are making declarations over someone else, substitute I/me for the name of the individual(s) and watch God shift your perspective and your heart.

  1. I am precious in God’s eyes. Isaiah 43:4
  2. I am loved greatly. Romans 5:8
  3. I am God’s masterpiece. Ephesians 2:10
  4. I  belong to the Lord. I am a child of God. Galatians 3:26
  5. I am the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:21
  6. The Lord knows what He’s doing. He has good plans for my life. He will prosper me and take care of me and not leave me to go astray. Deuteronomy 28:13
  7. I am a new creation;  I do not have to stay bound to the past. 2 Corinthians 5:17
  8. Goodness and mercy shall follow me everyday. Psalm 23:6
  9. The Lord gives me strength and through Him, I have power to face whatever comes my way. Isaiah 40:29
  10. I have no reason to be afraid. The peace of the Lord goes with me.  John 14:27

Father, remind me and convict me when I speak words that do not line up with your words. May I consistently pour Your promises over all that I do and with all that I encounter.
