Recently, I visited someone in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital. And while visiting, I overheard an announcement in the hallways of the ICU. A calm automated voice rang out from the loud speaker, “This is a code blue. Paging all available staff to the second floor. This is a code blue. Paging all available staff to the second floor.” This message played for at least 6-8 times and I couldn’t help but wonder what a “code blue” meant for the hospital.
After a few seconds of research on my phone, I discovered that a “code blue” typically means that a patient may have stopped breathing, may be in need of resuscitation, or may have had cardiac arrest. Hospitals and other organizations use this system to alert staff of emergencies that require special attention.
You may be in a “code blue” situation where the life has been sucked out of you and you can no longer go on without resuscitation or without assistance. Your marriage or relationship may be in “code blue.” Your finances may be in “code blue.” Your emotional health may be in “code blue.” Your heart may be in “code blue” because a lack of forgiveness, heaviness, and pain weigh it down. Your health may be in “code blue” and you are unsure of what the next report will be. Your future may seem to be in a “code blue,” with no beam of hope for your next step.
Wherever you find yourself today, know this:
The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV/NLT)

How awesome it is to have someone fighting on my behalf when I have no breath or strength left to fight. The Lord is a Mighty Warrior. He is already with you in your situation. He is upholding you with His hand. Whatever storms arise, lean on Him, let him quiet you with his love and sing songs of freedom over you. No situation is too big or too small for God’s hand. You are not designed to go through a “code blue” alone. You need God who is mightier, stronger, and more experienced at handling these situations. When you can’t, God can.
