We are in a strange time right now with Coronavirus (COVID 19). There is a great uncertainty and unrest around the world. We want to know more; we want to stay safe; we want this to end. And while we all want information and details, as believers of Jesus Christ, we are called to govern ourselves differently from what may be going on around us.
Now is not the time to panic and start believing every report you hear. Now is not the time to get distracted and unfocused. Now is not the time to subscribe to false doctrines. Now is not the time to be consumed by the news and social media. Now is not the time to lose faith and hope in the Word of God. Now is not the time to shut down and clam up.
Now is the time to put your hope in Yahweh, Jehovah Ezer – The Lord our Helper. Now is the time to immerse yourself in worship and prayer and the Word of God. Now is the time to know when you have to shut off the television and social media and pray. Now is the time to trust God more than ever. Now is the time to stand on the Word of God and speak His promises with all your heart. Now is the time to decide whose report you will believe.
Psalm 20:7-8 – Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright.
Psalm 33:20-22 – Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us even as we hope in you.
Psalm 91 (the entire psalm) v.5-6 You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
John 14:1 Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me [Jesus Christ].
